Revo-Rack PA Luggage Rack For Triumph TR, Stag & Spitfire
The Triumph TR Stag & Spitfire luggage rack from Revo-Rack is a unique luggage rack that eliminates the risk of paint damage caused by steel clamps or straps on the fragile trunk/boot lid edges. Revo-Rack was developed for modern convertibles: with panel gaps of only 2-3mm there is no room for a traditional clamp on the boot/trunk lid edges without a high risk of damage.
No metal touches your TR — only soft rubber vacuum cups, which use the pressure of the atmosphere to hold the rack on the boot/trunk lid. The grey buttons on the side of the cups pump the air out. These are not suction cups, the attachment power is much, much stronger.
Every Revo-Rack is supplied with two luggage straps and a cotton storage bag, so nothing is missing the next time you come to use it.
Revo-Rack was independently tested by TÜV Italia, part of the global TÜV testing and certification group. The rack went through speed, braking and force tests to ISO/PAS 11154:2006, the international standard for car roof bars, and to European general safety directive 2001/95/EC. Revo-Rack passed all of them — it won't fly off.

The Revo-Rack frame
The Revo-Rack frame is manufactured from 25mm / 1" 6063-T5 tubing, an aluminium and magnesium alloy that will never rust. The frame weighs only 1.7 kg / 3.7 lb. The cross bars are machine welded in place for consistency. The frame measures 900 x 420 mm / 36" x 17".
The vacuum supports
The Revo-Rack is held on your TR's boot/trunk lid by three 120mm vacuum cups, each rated by the manufacturer to hold 18 kg / 40 lb. These are very different to suction cups. A vacuum cup uses the force of atmospheric pressure to grip: once a vacuum exists between the cup and the surface, the weight of the earth's atmosphere holds the cup in place. Unlike suction cups, which produce a vacuum only as they pull away from the surface, Revo-Rack's cups use a hand pump to remove the air between the rubber pad and the surface, giving a far more reliable hold. Because the full face of the pad meets the car's paint surface, distortion is reduced and the cup can be used with very little risk of damage.
Each pump has a plunger with a red line that acts as a vacuum indicator. A few strokes evacuate the pad and it seals to the surface; when the cup is fully attached the plunger stops moving and the red line disappears into the pump. If the red line becomes visible, air has leaked back in and the vacuum is no longer sufficient. The grey buttons let you re-pump the cup without losing the vacuum that remains.
