Revo-Rack is a completely new type of Mazda MX5 Miata RF Luggage Rack that eliminates the risk of paint damage, caused by steel clamps or straps on the fragile boot/Trunk lid edge. Revo-Rack was developed for the MK4/ND as the panel gaps are only 2-3mm there is no room for a traditional luggage rack clamp in the tiny panel gap.
Revo-Rack has been independently tested by TUV Italy part of the global TUV testing and certification business. The rack went through speed, braking and force tests, to ISO 11154:2006 the international standard for car roof bars and the European Directive for general safety 2002/95/CE. Revo-Rack passed all these tests. Its the only luggage rack for sale globally certified to this level.
With the Revo-Rack no metal touches your MX5 only soft rubber vacuum cups these use the pressure of the atmosphere to secure the rack to your Mazda's trunk/boot lid paint damage is impossible. The rack spreads the load over wide area 300cm2+ so its fine on a soft aluminium lid.
This model of the Revo-Rack is for the RF with the lip spoiler or antenna an additional hole is in one of the cross rails, allowing the cups to be mounted closer together thus reducing the foot print of the rack on the boot/trunk lid.
All Revo-Racks are supplied with a storage bag and two luggage straps - no more lost bits.

Due to the 2.7mm / 1/8" panel gap on the RF MX5 its too small for a traditional clamp to fit without paint damage.
Revo-Racks load carrying capacity has been independently rated at 20kg
Not immediately obvious how to release the rack - Impossible to pull off, therefore theft is difficult.
The Revo-Rack Frame :
This ND MX5 luggage rack is manufactured from 1" 6063-T5 tubing this is an aluminium and magnesium alloy ( it will never rust ) As a result the rack frame weighs only 1.7kg perfect for the RF's aluminium boot/trunk lid. The cross bars are machine welded in place to ensure consistency, the rack is powder coated black. The revo-rack measures 90x42cm
The Supports :
The rack is secured to your MX5 using three 5" / 120mm vacuum cups, rated by the manufacturer as capable of holding an 40lb/18kg load each. These are very different to suction cups. The grey buttons on the side of the cup pump the air out creating a very secure hold.
Vacuum cups employ the force of atmospheric pressure to grip a surface: When a vacuum exists between the cup and the surface on which it is attached, the weight of Earth's atmosphere holds the cup in place with incredible force. Unlike suction cups that produce a vacuum as they pull away from the surface, Revo-Racks vacuum cups use a hand-actuated pump to efficiently remove air from between the rubber pad and the attaching surface thus creating a much more reliable hold. Because the full face of the pad is brought into contact with the surface, distortion is reduced, allowing the cup to be used with very little risk of damage.
